Chestnut Hill is a neighbourhood in NW Philadelphia. The first time I visited it was in December on a very cold crisp afternoon. I will never forget the overwhelming feeling I had of home sickness.

The doorways and windows were beautifully decorated with green foliage and red bows. Trees were lit up with tiny white lights and as it became evening time I rushed to take photographs and write observational notes. Photography was my main resource but because I wanted to covey my
emotions through the painting I let my memory guide me the end result.
