The inspiration for this painting came from my first ever experience of a major snow storm named Jonas.

I followed the progress of the blizzard on the weather channel as it produced a white-out across so many states. The following morning was a relief to hear the silence, but what really took me by surprise was the magnificent blue light and crisp shadows.

Everyone in the neighbourhood took up their shovels but not me, I set up my easel and was determined to capture the scene outside my front window. Every time I look at this painting I re-experience this event.
